He has been giving lectures at undergraduate and graduate level, supervising undergraduate, Master and PhD students \u00a0in Hanoi Architectural University and University of Architecture of Hochiminh city as well as giving thematic lectures in many universities in Poland, Canada, Spain, Korea. He has written many books in the fields of urban sociology, urban planning, urban management,urban real-estate and land management, planning with community participation&#8230;Besides, he works as consultant in many projects. He is the head of many urban planning and architecture design projects. He was the director and team leader of many research projects\u00a0sponsored by EU, ADB, CIDA, DANIDA, JICA, Ford Foundation&#8230; on urban planning, urban management and climate change impact and adaptation assessments. Urban renovation and beautification has become an inevitable trend to improve the living environment and enhance the quality of urban life, aiming at sustainable development. Each country has a different approach in the process of urban renovation and beautification. Some good models that some countries in the world apply in the process of urban renovation and beautification may be lessons for the renovation and beautification work in urban areas in Vietnam to refer to.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This article introduces some lessons learned from some countries in the world on urban renovation and beautification.
